The Client

Susan G Komen is the [godmother] of breast cancer organizations, with a rich history, well-established [legacy?] programs, and a tight-knit community. One of it’s most impactful events is the Susan G. Komen 3-Day where participants walk 60 miles over 3-Days and raise $2,300 to fuel the  mission to end breast cancer.

The Work

Reinvent partnered with Event 360, Komen’s 3 Day event program partner to ideate and execute an alternative 3-Day program to launch in May of 2021. We had two months to get from idea to impact. We started by identifying the elements that resonated most with the community and balancing that with the constraints and opportunities of hybrid event model. Out of this (plus some creative juju) came a new campaign and program, 3-Day Nation - a three-week celebration of the community’s grit, commitment, and purpose. This made a powerful difference as it laid the foundation for a new kind of hybrid experience that continued to raise over a $1MM despite the lack of the original signature in-person event.
